Size Records Cancels Gatecrasher Ibiza Residency For Remainder Of Summer
For some, the summer can never really go 100% as planned. This appears to be the case as the record label of former Swedish House Mafia member Steve Angello, Size Records, announced that it was no longer going to be continuing its residency at Gatecrasher in Ibiza. The label was incredibly vague in its announcement to cancel the remainder of its appearances at the venue. They only cited that Gatecrasher “failed to adhere to contractual requirements for each artist’s residency at the venue”. It is unclear exactly where the breach in contract took place, But clearly it was serious enough to cause the entire label to pull out of one of the summer’s biggest and most famous party islands. According to some comments on the Facebook announcement, this marks the second artist/group to pull out of a Gatecrasher residency mid-summer, as Eddie Halliwell also made the decision to pull the plug on the rest of his shows at the venue for the summer. As of the publication of this article, there has been absolutely no mention of refunds for those who have already bought tickets to attend any of the Size Records events. Clearly, this move has been made “in the best interests of [Size Records‘] artists,” and the label “wholeheartedly apologize[s] to any fans are planning on visiting the island to see the Size Records family at Gatecrasher”.
This article will be updated immediately if any more information from either the label or the venue is released. Stay tuned.
