Thomas Newson – Ravefield [August 4 – Revealed Recordings]
There are a lot of benefits to recycling. It helps save the Earth’s environment, and gives a lot of people jobs. However, recycling is not so welcome in the music industry. Do it the right amount, because fans will roast an artist for using the same synth multiple times, but not for having a signature sound. Thomas Newson toes the line with his latest track “Ravefield,” which serves as the follow-up to his Revealed Recordings debut, “Pallaroid”. He takes a similar sound to a familiar label for his next release, which was first debuted in February 2014, and was also rumored to be a collaboration with the Bassjackers titled “Chainsaw Wars”. Support has already started from various members of the Revealed family, and expect more to come as the August 4 release date comes closer to fruition.
“Ravefield” is probably one of the most festival ready tracks that has come out so far in 2014. It follows the formula of an already successful banger track in “Pallaroid,” but makes use of a different musical key and unique nuances to make “Ravefield” more powerful than it’s predecessor. Unfortunately for the purist fans out there, the original mix has only been played in recent radio shows, since Hardwell has been mashing the track with Galantis‘ “You” and Sick Individuals & Axwell‘s “I Am”. Both breaks bring something unique with different melodies, and different stylings. The drop mainly follows a scale pattern, but does so in a way that is quite impressive. Overall, “Ravefield” is a high-octane track that’s just waiting for peak time success.
