Justin Timberlake – My Love (Darryl Dwight & Robby East Bootleg)
It is with a heavy heart that I begin to review this amazing deep house bootleg from Darryl Dwight and Robby East. I know that there is an entire nation grieving alongside me, but this song truly shows the extent of a tragedy can hit home so quickly. I have had the pleasure of becoming familiar with Robby East over Twitter (quite a polite man, great producer, and easy to chat with), and today we are mourning the loss of a great friend and collaborator of his. Darryl Dwight, the other producer credited on this bootleg, was one of the 289 passengers on Malaysia Airlines flight #17 from Amsterdam-Schiphol airport to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia when it was shot down reportedly by pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine. Darryl and Robby had just began to work together on this bootleg for Justin Timberlake‘s track “My Love” before Darryl passed away in the flight’s explosion. Their deep house sound is impeccable, utilizing the bare minimum of synths, percussion, and vocals to create an absolutely wonderful track to play out by the pool or beach. No word on how this track will be released, but it is the ultimate tribute to the life of Darryl Dwight to give the track a listen, like, comment, repost, and share since that is the least we all can do.
RIP Darryl Dwight Gunawan, we will all miss you.
One more hero died without any sense.
