Dannic – Zenith [July 28 – Revealed Recordings]
Revealed Recordings tipped their hand by including eight unreleased future tracks on their Revealed Volume 5 compilation. One of those tracks comes from one of the labels mainstays, and that would be the production and DJ wizard Dannic. This is his first solo offering on the label since “Dear Life” dropped (w/ Bright Lights, so if that’s not solo, think back to “Lion”). The track he is dropping is known as “Zenith,” and was first played by the bossman Hardwell himself during his set at Petco Park in the USA in March 2014. The tune itself is quite large, and has already been supported by Henry Fong, Sick Individuals, and W&W. Expect the tune on July 28.
This tune is built up around the 303/acid sound, but that does not really jump to prominence right off the bat. Instead, the melody gets going with a rather relaxed pluck for a few bars. They sound build up into a louder sound, but you can’t actually guess that the drop makes “Zenith” into more of an acid-influenced banger. That’s where Dannic proves his talents as a DJ and producer: he just makes what sounds good to him, and the sound is unexpected and great. “Zenith” soon builds up, and a chopped up vocal sample comes into play. This vocal sample brought the working title of “C’mon everybody, let’s all get down,” and next the acid sound gets going. “Zenith” is definitely a tune to get the crowd up and dancing, and should see a performance that shows this in the charts.
Be sure to grab “Zenith” when it drops on July 28. Until then, enjoy this teaser from Dannic!
