Don’t Worry: Hardwell Dispels Rumors of One Direction Collaboration
A video teaser for the Tomorrowland music festival happening this weekend and next weekend surfaced a few days ago on YouTube, and featured a progressive house track seemingly fit to be titled “United”. This caused a big stir in the dance music scene because Hardwell had been playing a track with the working title “United We Are,” or just simply, “United”. The real mess got underway when a Spanish radio station incorrectly reported that the track was a collaboration between Hardwell and British pop quintet One Direction. The rumors built up, and fans all over the world were disgusted and confused by the prospect of the No. 1 DJ potentially turning into a sellout.
Here’s the video in question:
Thankfully, we received two different confirmations from Hardwell himself and his Revealed Recordings label manager, Sebastien Lintz, that the track is in fact not Hardwell‘s, and that the Dutchman does not have a collaboration with One Direction in his plans. Lintz went on to surmise that the track might be from American vocalist Matthew Koma, who provided the words to Hardwell’s hit tune, “Dare You”. Check out the proof below, and then rejoice that Hardwell is steering clear of commercial pop music!
