Bassjackers & Kenneth G – Rampage [June 30 – Revealed Recordings]
As the eyes of the dance music world shift to Las Vegas for the fourth edition of the city’s Electric Daisy Carnival festival, two Dutchmen are providing the fuel to make the festival huge. The tune we’re referring to comes from the Bassjackers duo and solo artist Kenneth G. The track itself is titled “Rampage,” and is the first of eight unreleased tracks from the Hardwell presents Revealed Vol. 5 compilation to see it’s official release. The whole dance music community thought that this tune was actually called “Seventy,” and was actually a collaboration between the young Dutch superstar Martin Garrix and Revealed mainstay Dyro. Now that the rumors have all been debunked, it’s clear that “Rampage” will easily top the list of tracks played at EDC Las Vegas. The track will be released on June 30 through Revealed Recordings.
The first break is quite simplistic, as it is really only made up of a grinding synth, and the appropriate accompanying bassline. It turns out that this section of the track really isn’t meant to be a break, but more of a buildup to the absolutely massive first drop. A snare every four beats gets this vibe going. The snare roll becomes more quick, and soon the drop feels like its about to follow. There’s no trademark big room vocal sample before the drop, which is just another sign that “Rampage” plays no games. After a simple drum breakdown, the drop gets crazy. The bassline is just gigantic, and the synths on top refuse to be outdone with their perfectly-tuned festival sound. You can tell that both the Bassjackers and Kenneth G are really proud of this tune, and prepare to hear “Rampage” for the months to come.
“Rampage” has seen the support of Martin Garrix, Dannic, Dyro and more, so be sure to grab a copy when it drops on June 30. Enjoy!
