Borgeous feat. Julia Michaels – Wildfire [DOORN Records]
The man who was 25% responsible for “Stampede,” 50% responsible for “Tsunami,” and 100% responsible for “Invincible” is back with another hit. That man is Borgeous, and his return to DOORN Records is nothing short of fantastic. The American solo artist has been working tirelessly to cement his reputation as a guy who CAN do it on his own after a few collaborations built his name up. This time, he worked again with an uncredited female vocalist. It’s the same voice from “Invincible,” and her name is Julia Michaels. “Wildfire” is a much more melodic piece when compared to some of the previous tracks that live in Borgeous‘ discography. There’s a lot more focus on the way the chords work together with Michaels’s vocals, and the fact that the usual big room brute force bass kick is absent. “Wildfire” should not be considered a weak production for this reason, however, since the power lost is easily gained back through soulful vocals from Julia Michaels and beautiful melodies from Borgeous. Support has come from all over the globe, including DubVision, Thomas Gold, and Nicky Romero. Be sure not to miss out on this tune by grabbing a copy from Beatport today!
