Fur Coat – The Right Move EP [Bpitch Control]
A bass-heavy collection of deep house tracks, The Right Move will satisfy your craving for smooth bass lines, and tight grooves. Jaw’s vocals overtop the first track are heavily smothered in effects and sound-altering additions that give the piece a very dark and relaxed feel, however the actual lyrics leave a bit to be desired. The bass will however explode through your speakers and give the track the lift it needs back into a higher energy, giving it an interesting balance between styles. Fading Away is more energetic and makes a much greater attempt at using synths. In this case, these are very space-age sounding and lend a futuristic feel to the track as a whole. For example, something you would hear going into a club in Mass Effect. Fast Forward and Fading Away honestly sound a bit the same. The bass is more prominent in Fading Away and there are more bass-heavy synths, but on the whole Fading Away and Fast Forward kind of feel like the same track. This is by no means bad, but it would have been nice to have some variation. Give it a listen.
