Armin van Buuren feat. Lauren Evans – Alone (Thomas Newson Remix) [June 23 – Armada Music]

Holland continues to churn out talented DJs, and one of the best among them is Thomas Newson. His name burst to the top of many lists when his premier single “Pallaroid” was released on Revealed Recordings. Now, he has been brought in by the #1 trance DJ in the world, Armin van Buuren, to release a remix for his single, “Alone”. This would not mark the first time that Thomas Newson has appeared on the Armada Music catalog, since his single known as “Don’t Hold Us” came out on the label just recently. The remix was debuted just two days ago on episode 665 of Armin van Buuren‘s world famous radio show, A State of Trance. This remix from Marco V‘s son (it’s true!) is set to be released on June 23.

The sound in the break is exactly what you would expect from Armin van Buuren. Sublime composition, powerful melodies, and beautiful vocals make up the largely unchanged middle section. It’s definitely worth noting that Lauren Evans has one of the most powerful and soulful voices that dance music has ever heard. Hopefully, she’ll make more appearances on dance music records. The Thomas Newson sound really takes over as the buildup gets underway. The first bar is a loud synth stab, while the rest is simple percussion. The drop that follows features a driving and groovy sound to it, and will easily get a crowd dancing.
