BARE – Trooper [June 9 – Hysteria Records]
Hysteria Records is working hard to expand their artist catalog, and they are adding stars with every release. At a glance, names like Bassjackers, MAKJ, Tommy Trash, andHenry Fong jump out as some of the labels finest alongside its curators, the Bingo Players. They now expand their horizons further, adding BARE to the fold of an already impressive set of names. The Los Angeles-based producer has experimented mainly with festival trap and big-room, with a plethora of trap remixes (including “Reload”) and also a two-track big room EP on Cr2 Records. The big-room side of BARE comes out now for Hysteria Records, as he brings his single “Trooper” to the label. This track first surfaced back on the first day of 2014, when DJ Snake dropped the tune as an ID during a set in San Diego, USA. “Trooper” will be available on June 9.
As is mentioned above, “Trooper” is a big-room banger. The track has a ton of suspense; with two different buildup sequences that do not lead into anything but more buildup. The melody is made from a super sharp saw lead, and does not disappoint. It comes in late in the break, as a slightly trap-influenced sound gets it all going in the beginning. The first of two builds is all about suspense. It goes for about 15 seconds before phasing out, and letting the second round of buildup begin. Then, the second buildup is serious. Combinations of percussion and bass bring the track accelerating towards the drop. The impending drop is punctuated by a quick vocal sample, and then the madness begins. The kick is fat, and the synth work is marvelous: “Trooper” is the epitome of big-room domination.
Be sure to grab “Trooper” when it drops June 9 on Hysteria Records. Enjoy!
