First, he was the pilot behind the most recent edition of “Flight 643,” and now he’s taking his music to the “Next Level”. John Christian, an Amsterdam native, is back in action with his second appearance on Protocol Recordings after his tune with Sem Thomasson was featured on the Protocol Miami compilation. Now, with a little help from Nicky Romero, he makes another splash with “Next Level”. Powerful melodies get this banger going, but the real fun gets going once the drop gets underway. The kick fits the bill of a rowdy big-room track, but the top line rocks a sweet, bleepy electro vibe that definitely does not get enough love nowadays. Its easy to see how the Nicky Romero edit of “Next Level” has snuck into the sets of Don Diablo, David Guetta, and Showtek (among many others) in recent weeks. “Next Level” is available now on Beatport, so grab a copy and blast it out loud!
