Lush & Simon – Hunter [June 2 – Protocol Recordings]
Even with the news that Lush & Simon lost their original Simon, the man who took his place has not missed a beat. Our good friends, who blasted to worldwide recognition with “Adrenaline” on Revealed, have kept up their hard work. With the success of the vocal mix of “City Of Lights” in their pocket, Lush & Simon are looking to conquer their newest label: Protocol Recordings. The duo announced that they had signed their track, “Hunter,” to the label after weeks of speculation, and mysterious posts on Facebook and Twitter. It soon made the rounds as an ID track, and was officially debuted as the opening track of Protocol Radio #92. Luckily, “Hunter” is set to be released on June 2 with support already from Steve Angello, twoloud, Sander van Doorn, and plenty more.
One of the most interesting parts of all Lush & Simon tracks is how the emotion they put into their production process comes through to the listener. The first melody alone is rather simple, made up of a lone set of synth plucks over a simple snare hit every beat. Granted, it’s simple, but it’s overwhelmingly beautiful. Once the buildup gets underway, a different sounding melody starts to make its way in from the background. Before you realize it, Lush & Simon push their sound to full throttle with a perfectly tuned bassline accompanying their always-fantastic top line.
Grab “Hunter” from Lush & Simon when it drops on June 2. Enjoy!
