Marcus Schössow & Arston – The Universe [May 19 – Revealed Recordings]
After 2013 was a year full of big kicks, 2014 appears to be focused on a more refined sound. One of the labels following suit with this trend is Hardwell‘s Revealed Recordings. Their next track comes from Swedish progressive house mainstay Marcus Schössow, and Belarusian upstart Arston. Originally rumored to be Sandro Silva instead of Schössow, the track these two have collaborated on is titled “The Universe”. First played by Marcus Schössow during a guest-mix slot on Steve Angello‘s BBC Radio 1 residency, and officially debuted by Hardwell on Hardwell On Air 166, “The Universe” did not make the cut for Hardwell‘s Ultra Music Festival set, but is a bomb nonetheless. “The Universe” will be released through Revealed Recordings on May 19.
The break begins with a serene piano sequence, which soon builds up into that feel-good, uplifting progressive house vibe that has been dearly missed in recent weeks. The sound of the melody only becomes more and more epic as it progresses, with plenty of layers of intricate sounds playing an important role. After a simple build comprised of a few riser and snare rolls, the sheer bliss of the drop gets underway. This is progressive house executed perfectly by both Marcus Schössow and Arston, and it is clear that “The Universe” will be an anthem for this summer’s festival season.
Grab “The Universe” when it drops on May 19. Enjoy!
