3LAU – Bang (Tiësto Bootleg) [Musical Freedom Records]
It’s not everyday that a bootleg is released on one of the hottest labels in dance music. But just yesterday, American 23-year-old 3LAU found his name etched onto the same album cover with Tiësto for his bootleg of “Bang”. The way this track came together is slightly confusing, since 3LAU has actually considered it an “original mashup”. 3LAU explained that he “sent an instrumental to Tiësto in October of 2013, he loved the track and thought it would be awesome to add something w/ an old school vibe”. The Dutch icon then touched it up with a throwback acappella from The Bloodhound Gang’s track “The Bad Touch”. The drop is the work of Tiësto, who fuses his big-room prowess with his new found love of tech house to create a pretty sweet fusion of sounds. “Bang (Tiësto Bootleg)” has also caught the ears of R3hab, W&W, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, so it is quite clear that they have created a pretty big tune.
