Discussing Their Career And Future, Our Interview With DVBBS
The guys behind DVBBS are one of the most wanted and loved artists at the moment. With some huge releases last year, they reached the worldwide audience and kept on working hard to become a bigger and bigger name. How did it all start and what inspired them? We will ask it all during this interview.
Most interviews are very relaxed and it’s easy to write the answers down, given by the artists. This was something completely different. From the moment we started, the guys surely had loads of fun and they brought a very positive and nice vibe to the conversation. Laughing is very healthy and in that way I can’t see these guys getting ill. It starts with the fact that they’re just more than Tsunami. They immediately respond: “Nah, we’re quitting, our whole set is filled with just Tsunami, reversed.
Now to the serious part, after the hit ‘Tsunami’, things went quite well with DVBBS. Everyone wanted to be part of the DVBBS-train and their popularity rose to a high level. Isn’t it hard for them to deal with that? “Well, before Tsunami everything went quite well already. We toured, had a pretty big audience. We didn’t reach a number one yet, but we could do quite some remixes and had nice successes. We’re an open, positive train and like our fans just to dance the whole night on our music. So for us, it wasn’t really hard to deal with it, the train just got way bigger since Tsunami.”
Sander van Doorn called the DVBBS guys one of the possible new leaders in the EDM-scene and gave them very positive feedback. “Did he really say that? Wow, that’s so awesome haha.” We however don’t know if that’s true. Sander was one of our biggest inspirations in EDM and he was the first artists Chris wanted to visit, when it comes to EDM-parties. He also released ‘Tsunami’ after we sent it to Spinnin’ and him. He really supported us with the release and guided us through and put us in the spotlights in many ways.”
The DVBBS boys have loads of fun together and show it every second. We just wonder if it’s always this way and how hard or nice it is to do everything with your brother. “We only like each other when we are high hahaha. No, seriously, we like each other, but we’ll remain brothers. It would be wrong if we’d just always be nice to each other, that is simply not possible. It does help us that we’re brothers, because we trust each other completely. We connect together perfectly with sets and while producing. Our manager is also like a brother to us, so in fact we’re one big family!”
It’s almost impossible to miss the enthusiasm and the fun of these two producers and they joke around a lot during the interview. When we get serious again, we discuss the productions created by DVBBS. “We made most of our releases back long ago. We sat together and started with creating our completely own sound.” This can also be heard in many of the latest DVBBS-tracks, they have the same feeling, which sometimes raises question marks by EDM-enthusiasts. “As a producer or producers it’s important to have your own sound, but things should sound completely new as well, that’s a bit strange. We love the tracks we produce and luckily the fans do as well. The most important for us is that our fans enjoy the tracks and party on it during our or others’ sets, just like we do..”
One of the latest release from the hands of DVBBS is Immortal, with Tony Junior. “We worked on the basis together and came in contact with Tony Junior. We liked his material and decided to work together on this track, which we also did haha.” Immortal was another slamming hit by the Canadian duo, who seem to have found the way up completely. What we know for now, is that we can expect some booming tracks from these guys, starting with their upcoming track with MOTi. As the boys say themselves: “You better get prepared for some sick shit!”
