John Dahlbäck & Benny Benassi – Blink Again [April 18 – Ultra Music]

When two veterans collide the result can be massive, and that is exactly the case with “Blink Again” from John Dahlbäck and Benny Benassi. These two mainstays in the dance music industry have come together after Dahlbäck originally released “Blink” back in 2007 with sounds inspired by Mr. Benassi. Now, these two will give this classic a rebirth after lots of concentrated work in the studio. “Blink Again” will be released by Ultra Music on April 18.

Right off the bat, the production prowess that both Dahlbäck and Benassi possess is evident through their use of chopped up vocal samples. From there, the synth-work comes out from the background, and actually heads into a trap-inspired breakdown. The buildup that develops now has a 303/acid house sound to it, which soon filters out. The drop ditches this previous sound in favor of a lighter lead an absolutely killer bassline.

“Blink Again” will drop April 18 on Ultra Music. Until then, enjoy!
