House Legend Frankie Knuckles dies at 59
Yesterday, as a community, we said goodbye to a music legend. Frankie Knuckles commonly referred to as the “Godfather of House Music” died at the age of 59. He was a pioneer of music in Chicago in the 70s and 80s Frankie inspired a culture that created the house music we have today. The term house music even evolved from the club in Chicago that Frankie originally played “Warehouse”. Even years later his music still makes an impact sounding just as soulful and groovy as it was in the 80’s. Truly a gifted artist and an inspiration to so many it is with heavy hearts that we send condolences to the family, friends and fans of Frankie Knuckles.
