Wu-Tang To Sell Just One Copy Of Their New Album
If you’re favorite artist on the planet announced that they would only be releasing one copy of their newest album how much would you be willing to pay for that album? The answer to that question is probably quite a bit if you’re a true enthusiast. Wu-Tang Clan recently announced that they will be releasing just one copy of their upcoming double album, which was created in secret, before they release A Better Tomorrow which commemorates their 20th anniversary. You can bet that it’s going to sell for millions of dollars.
It’s an interesting concept especially as record sales have plummeted and artists must rely more and more on merchandise and touring income. Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, the secret double album, is going to be encased in a custom silver and nickel box crafted by the famous British-Moroccan artist Yahya. Before the sale of the album it will go on a special world tour and fans can attend a special listening event to screen the album for an undisclosed fee. The buzz that this is going to generate will be massive and it has already skyrocketed Wu-Tang into the one of the internet’s top searches. Whoever is lucky enough and rich enough to buy this album will have the choice of sharing the music with the world or keeping it forever hidden. Hopefully they choose to share it because the double album is now without a doubt one of the most coveted musical compositions ever made.
We want to know what you think though. Wu-Tang Clan is one of the most respected music collectives in the world so they shouldn’t have a problem turning this into a successful venture, but would people be will willing to pay ridiculous sums of money for a one of kind Armin van Buuren or Deadmau5 album?
