Carnage & Junkie Kid – Krakatoa [March 24 – Musical Freedom Records]
This collaboration has been a long time coming, and the result is absolutely gigantic. American trap-turned-bigroom icon Carnage has joined forces with hybrid hardstyle/electro all-star Junkie Kid to create “Krakatoa,” a track with just as much explosive potential as the volcano it derives its name from. Already with support from W&W, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, and more, “Krakatoa” is bound to have to have a dynamic impact on dancefloors and festival grounds worldwide once it is released on March 24 via Musical Freedom Records.
The melody feels like its an old-school trap melody created by Carnage that has been slowed down to fit the tempo of “Krakatoa”. The melody has a few chopped of vocal samples thrown in, and a lot of the focus is drawn to their percussive sound. The drop which follows a quick quiet section is easily one of the biggest of 2014 so far. Junkie Kid‘s expertise on the bassline is abundant, and the synth stabs on top turn “Krakatoa” into a formidable banger that will make it into the peak-time of just about every DJ’s set.
“Krakatoa” will be released on Tiësto’s Musical Freedom label on March 24. Enjoy!
