Jhene Aiko – The Vapors (Ricky Vaughn Rework)

One of my favorite producers in the game is Ricky Vaughn and yet most people probably have no idea who he is, but the world will know his name soon enough. His excellent rework of Jhene Aiko’s song “The Vapors” is incredibly smooth and sexy, but it still has that moombah flair to it that has powered many of Vaughn’s productions. If the name sounds Jhene Aiko sounds familiar, it’s because she’s a part of Black Hippy which is Kendrick Lamar’s consortium of artists. It’s a pleasure to see Ricky Vaughn mix hip-hop with EDM and he does it flawlessly making sure to retain the best parts of both genres.
