Friend Within – The Underground EP [Hypercolour]
The release of The Underground EP marks another impressive group of tracks from the UK and exemplifies the great creativity coming out of the country for years now. A combination of tech and deep house, Friend Within uses meaty bass-lines, bouncy drums, and groovy rhythmic elements to great effect. For example, The Show’s combination of bass-line, percussive and dissonant synths, and high-hat/kick placement creates a strong groove that allows for a unique feel that can potentially refresh the vibe of dance floors everywhere. The Trouble breaks it down a bit more with an intense vibe, and a nod to Detroit house of old. An excellent show of production, and worthy of your music library. Check this EP out.
