Julian Calor – Typhoon/Storm [February 17 – Revealed Recordings]
The future is bright for Revealed Recordings. Fresh off the release of The Sound of Revealed mixed by Kill The Buzz, the label takes no time to drop another bomb from Dutch young talent, Julian Calor. The man behind “Space Dial” now has an EP all to himself, which contains two tracks: “Typhoon” and “Storm”. Julian is only 19 years old, and so he has a ton of future releases coming in his musical career.
The teaser for “Typhoon” has been posted first, while the teaser for “Storm” is not out yet. The melody is made up of a orchestral sound, made up of strings and a bassline. From this orchestral sound, the main lead makes its way out of the background. The buildup consists of a filter version of this main lead, together with snares. After a little gated sequence, the track drops into a swirling vortex of electro sound that Julian Calor has tuned to perfection on “Typhoon”.
“Storm” has a similar vibe to “Thyphoon,” however there is definitely more focus on the melody in “Storm”. The synth lead is actually matched with cowbells in the melody, giving it a unique sound that I’ve never heard before. The lead turns from just stabs into a coherent lead, before going into the buildup. The drop that follows is a perfect combination between electro sound, and progressive composition. Simply put by a commenter on SoundCloud: “Sounds like Dyro Junior”.
The EP drops on February 17 via Revealed Recordings. Enjoy these two new tracks from Julian Calor!
