Hardwell feat. Matthew Koma – Dare You Remixes, Part 1 [February 10 – Revealed Recordings]
To celebrate 150 episodes, #1 DJ Hardwell took over the SLAM!FM studios in Hilversum for a special, two hour live broadcast of his world famous radio show: Hardwell On Air. Aside from playing a plethora of upcoming releases on his Revealed Recordings label, Hardwell also introduced the first two remixes for his single with Matthew Koma, titled “Dare You”. The names on these remixes are big, and show the magnitude of success that the original version has had since its release. The first remix is a collaboration between two names we have been saying a lot lately: Tiësto and twoloud. Tiësto needs no introduction, as he was elected the #4 DJ in the world, and also the Best DJ Of All Time award winner. One of his biggest finds has been twoloud. We legitimately know NOTHING about them, except for the fact that they keep putting out good music. Remix #2 comes from an American trio: Cash Cash. They tried to go mainstream pop in the USA, but eventually settled on a successful career in dance music.
The Tiësto vs. twoloud remix follows the standard format of every track produced by twoloud so far.The original’s vocals stay intact, and the melody is reworked into the first drop. Similarly to “Big Bang,” the second drop goes in a completely different direction. It’s big-room at its finest: a booming bass kick paired with a very energetic saw lead.
You have to love a blast from the past, and that’s exactly what Cash Cash did with their remix. The vocals feel rejuvenated in this remix, and these guys really worked their magic during the chorus. The throwback feel comes into play during the drop. They went back to the raw 303 sound of acid house, and turn the track into a formidable club weapon.
Like Hardwell said during the broadcast, these remixes will be coming soon via Revealed Recordings. Now with the official previews, we know that this is only the first edition of remixes. They will be out on February 10. Until the, enjoy these teasers!
