Laidback Luke & Project 46 feat. Collin McLoughlin – Collide [Release TBA – Mixmash Records]
Last week, Project 46 posted a mysterious looking YouTube link to a “leaked” version of “Collide,” their collaboration with Dutch dance music icon, Laidback Luke. It’s not a leak anymore, as the official preview has been uploaded by the artists. As predicted, the check will be released through LBL’s world-famous Mixmash Records in the coming weeks. In an attempt to put an end to the monotonous sound that dominated 2013, the artist went for an overall progress of sound in “Collide,” me also featured vocalist Collin McLoughlin. You might recognize McLoughlin’s name from his “unplugged” version of Hardwell‘s “Call Me a Spaceman,” which was released through Revealed back in October 2012.
The first break is 100% emotion, as the melody compliments Collin McLoughlin‘s vocals perfectly. As he navigates his lyrics with incredible vocal dexterity, the track begins to build steadily. The word “Collide” loops over and over, and the progressive energy becomes almost palpable. That same loop gets chopped up a little, and soon, a beautiful progressive drop takes over our ears as Laidback Luke and Project 46 demonstrate why they are kings in the progressive house industry.
We have no exact release date for “Collide” yet, but we will be sure to update this article once we receive any concrete information. This teaser is worth listening to over and over, so be sure to put it to good use. Enjoy!
