John Dish – Homme [January 27 – Flamingo Recordings]
John Dish is really ramping it up as we head into 2014. Fresh off the release of his collaboration with Thomas Newson, “Kalavela,” he now previews his next single on Flamingo Recordings. “Homme” is a track that demonstrates John Dish‘s ability to create minimal progressive house in a way that does not sound repetitive, and in a way that can be used by a wide variety of different DJ’s. Of course, this isn’t his first time on Flamingo, as he has dropped hits like “Karmma” and “Novva” through that label. He continues his usual theme of repeating letters in his song titles, as a way of keeping unique.
When I say “minimal progressive house,” I don’t mean to say the track is boring. John Dish simply has the uncanny ability to make an engaging song with very little flair to it. He makes use of percussion in an efficient and powerful way that does not overpower the listener. This has been a style that has been perfected throughout the career of John Dish. Check out the preview to “Homme” below. It’s just the perfect amount of groove combined with the perfect amount of mainstream house; its sure to be a huge hit!
“Homme” drops worldwide via Flamingo Recordings on January 27. Until then, enjoy this teaser!
