It was mysterious at first, but we now know the master behind “Gecko”. There were many names put onto the original teaser, which came out with no artist name on it. However, it soon became clear that the artist responsible is none other than another Dutch young gun, Oliver Heldens. He has been working really hard on developing a more mellow house sound, which is apparent in “Gecko” and his upcoming remix for Martin Garrix‘s “Animals”. “Gecko” relies on a groovy bassline that we really do not get enough of nowadays in house music. “Gecko” shows Musical Freedom‘s dedication to keeping a variety of music coming on the label, and their dedication to cultivating young, talented artists as well.
