R3hab & Lucky Date – Rip It Up (Nicky Romero Edit) [December 9 – Protocol Recordings]
Hang onto your headphones, this track is an absolute banger. We’ve heard it as an ID, and suspected it for months now, but we finally have confirmation of the collaboration between R3hab and Lucky Date. The track is called “Rip It Up,” and Protocol Recordings label boss Nicky Romero, who signed the track to his label, decided to get in on the fun as well. It is amazing how you can hear the influences of each producer inside one cohesive track. The Nicky Romero edit of “Rip It Up” is scheduled to drop on December 9.
To start, the melody on this tune is phenomenal. It starts off quietly, but soon builds into a triumphant and powerful chord sequence that takes away any doubt that this track will be an absolute banger. Starting soon after the melody finishes, a sliced vocal sample saying “Rip It Up” takes over the top line, as the track builds higher. The drop that comes after is absolutely crazy, with a heavy baseline that is complimented perfectly by a very wild set of synths.
If I had to guess, R3hab and Nicky Romero focused mainly on the melody, while the drop sounds to be primarily the work of Lucky Date. Whatever the combination may be, this track is definitely destined for the top of the charts. Grab it when I comes out December 9! For now, enjoy this preview!
