Benny Benassi – Back To The Pump [Ultra]
House music legend Benny Benassi is back with a new release on Ultra Records titled “Back to the Pump”. An electro house banger, the title of the track “Back To The Pump” is taken quite literally as everything is sidechained like crazy, giving it that very intense pumping feeling house music is known for. It’s almost a bit TOO sidechained as the “pump” is quite pronounced in almost every area of the song.
Suprisingly enough, I actually enjoyed this track’s melody and drop. Even though it is your standard electro house, the breakdown is a nice throwback to Benassi’s classic sound he has been breaking away from up until now. Benassi’s use of piano chords and half time add a fresh element to the tune and give it the break it needs from the intensity of the verse. This continues into the drop as heavy synths pound through your speakers over a deep, rumbling kick. The synth line overtop is remeniscent of tracks like “Satisfaction” and brought me back to the days of Benassi and the Biz. Overall, I really enjoyed the track! Check it out.
