Sugar Hill – I Like Pussy (Remixes) [Tropical Heat]
Despite Sugar Hill’s vulgar title I Like Pussy, this new remixes release off of Tropical Heat isn’t half bad. It’s actually less than half bad. That’s because Rafael Cerato provides a groovy remix in a nice 70s style that makes the annoying samples from the original that both songs use, less crappy. The bass-line is incredibly well done and I also really enjoyed the guitar overtop the verse. It may not be my favorite deep house track ever, but I enjoyed listening to it.
There is a bad part though. That’s because Hawaiian Boy’s remix doesn’t shut the hell up with the vocal samples and ends up being incredibly monotonous. I mean, i get it. The word “pussy” is in the song, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s funny or want to hear it all the time. The track ends up sounding lazy and kind of annoying. I don’t mean to be a scrooge about it, but I honestly did not enjoy the track. That’s not to say I think Hawaiian Boy is a poor artist, just this release was not up to snuff.
But check out Cerato’s version. It’s pretty good.
