Bassjackers, GRX – Gamer [Doorn Records]
Bassjackers and GRX (Martin Garrix being sneaky) have released their absolutely massive track Gamer and while I have to give it props for referencing mario while it’s building, it still ends up being another electro track in that Bassjackers style. That’s not to say it doesn’t sound absolutely epic, which it definitely does, but it has that big kick, expansive reverb-laden synths, and lots of repetitive melodic elements that seem to be consistently clogging up the electro-progressive scene for a few months now.
But, Gamer gets it done and if you’re a fan of these artists, definitely give the track a listen. It has that big festival sound and those who are searching for some kind of electro-rave fix will not be disappointed. While it may not do anything all that unique, it serves its purpose well and will pound through festival speakers for a good long while.
