Tiësto feat. Kyler England – Take Me (Michael Brun & Alex Balog Remixes) [October 28 – Musical Freedom Records]
Now that the Beatport remix competition for Tiësto‘s most recent single, “Take Me,” has come to a close, we are proud to announce the winner, and one of his companions that will join him on the remix EP. The remixes for this beautiful progressive track, which features vocalist Kyler England, come from Haitian producer Michael Brun and contest winner Alex Balog, who hails from Athens, Greece. Both tracks maintain a progressive house vibe, but use the remixing opportunity to put their own personal spin on the highly-successful original.
Michael Brun‘s remix goes straight to the chorus, laying it over a mellow set of chords. Once the chorus has run its course, this remix heads straight into buildup, and drops into a very chill progressive house sequence similar to the Axwell remode of “Center Of The Universe”. This track makes effective use of its volume, and is greatly effective in being a good remix while not being the loud, in-your-face electro that most people demand.
Alex Balog‘s remix is straight progressive house, and he does it very well. The vocals are laid over a piano riff sequence inspired by the original track, with percussion added as England hits the bridge. As the chorus begins, it returns to piano only, while England belts out the chorus. This marks the beginning of the buildup, and soon the track drops into a completely unique progressive drop.
Prepare yourselves, as these remixes will hit Beatport on October 28. For now, enjoy these previews!
