Sasha – Reconstructed By Sasha [Last Night On Earth]
Welsh dance music legend Sasha has released a three track remix album featuring his takes on tracks by Keep Shelly In Athens, Home Video, and a personal favorite of mine, the british Bonobo. The tracks are top notch and show Sasha’s range of producing ability.
Eyesdown is a mellow deep house remix with nicely done organ synths over spacey vocals. The beat is tight and adds energy to the track while a sparse bass line rumbles underneath. Definitely Sasha-esque as it has a dark, late-night feel to it. The second remix is of Our Own Dream and is definitely the oddest of the three but shares similar qualities with the remix of Eyesdown. Spacey vocals over a deep rumbling bass line that is bit more active this time around, and more distorted synths allow for a higher energy track, but is still dark and brooding house. Finally, the release ends with Every Love That Ever was. A simplistic track emphasizing the incredibly well-done vocals, Every Love That Ever was has a wonderful melody that incorporates a unique and imaginative bass line over spacious guitar and a well done kick. Definitely the best track of the release. Give it a listen!
