Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. DVBBS & Borgeous – Stampede [November 18 | Spinnin’ Records]
Just from the artists involved, you can tell this track is going to be an absolute banger. The Tomorrowland titans behind hits like “Wakanda,” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike join forces with DVBBS and Borgeous, the very same producers responsible for the “Tsunami” madness that swept the dance music scene earlier this year. “Stampede” was one of many that was debuted during the Tomorrowland 2013 aftermovie. As with the majority of collaborations that we have heard this year, it is great to hear the combination of each producer’s individual styles wrapped together into one song.
The guys seem to have followed the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” strategy while producing this track. The same string sounds from “Tsunami” make a comeback in the melody of “Stampede,” but this time are on their own, with no looped vocal sample. Strong synths are placed on top of the strings, and gives the melody a very epic feel to it. The energy of the track rises as it heads to the buildup, and a LOUD “stampede” sample brings the drop. The arps from “Tsunami” combine with the famous “Wakanda” kick, and you suddenly find your ears filled with an incredibly powerful drop.
This is the first of MANY new collaborations from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, so stay tuned, because we’ll cover them for sure. While over a month away, get excited for November 18: “Stampede” drops on Spinnin’ Records that day. Until then, crank this preview to full volume!
