Wolfgang Gartner & Tommy Trash Release “Hounds of Hell”
First of all, I would like to say that both Gartner, and Trash have released some of my favorite electro house tracks of all time. Needless to say, a collaboration between the two should be an epic collision of brutal synths, grinding bass lines, and heavy drops.
And boy doesn’t “Hounds of Hell” do just that. The synth choices for the melody are absolutely top notch. Specifically, the wah-covered break synth that sounds like a mix between a 70s or 80s rock track. When it drops, it drops hard too. With a powerful build characterized by synth stabs above kick drums, it falls into a grinding synth and off-beat synths providing a powerful force of sound.
But, that’s all really. In terms of electro house songs, it’s not all that interesting or different and while it has interesting elements, it’s not a melodically strong track like we’re used to from these guys. Give it a listen and decide what you think!
