2 Unlimited – Get Ready + Steve Aoki Remix [BYTE Records]

Dutch-Belgian group 2 Unlimited were enormously successful in the nineties. They scored many worldhits and they introduced the world successfully to House Music. They had an easy formula: a male rapper and a female singer, supported by catchy melodies and powerful dance rhythms. One of their most famous successes and a still often played track ‘Get Ready’ got released in 1991. It however could use a special 2013 makeover and no one less than Steve Aoki is the man behind it. It got released today, together with the original on BYTE Records.

You can’t say Steve Aoki gave it just a little makeover, since he twisted the track completely. He used the very recognizable main melody of the track and made it a big part of as well the buildup as the break. In that way the track keeps its 2 Unlimited influence and will make many hands raise. The climax however can’t be compared to the original, with stunning Electro House beats, he created another masterpiece and made ‘Get Ready’ totally 2013-proof!
