Hardwell wins ‘Best Electro DJ’ at the Ibiza DJ Awards
Hardwell was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Best Electro DJ’ at this year’s DJ Awards ceremony held in Ibiza. Beating off stiff competition, the Dutch dance music titan was celebrated for a year of unrivalled achievement. In a category that included esteemed names such as Avicii, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Steve Angello and Afrojack amongst others, Hardwell claimed the title in a section littered with dance music stars and artists who have become synonymous with the White Isle.
With his debut in Ibiza made back in 2010, Hardwell’s career has exploded in the intermitting years. His first performance on the island saw him invited by scene stalwart Tiësto to perform alongside him at his now legendry Club Life event at Privilege. This early taste of what the White Isle had to offer left an impression with the then up-and-coming DJ and producer. Fast forward to 2013 and aided by musical maturity, Hardwell’s achievement in the scene was affirmed through an unprecedented run of guest appearances. Whilst his Tomorrowland performance has been viewed over 11 million times in just two months; making him the single most in demand liveset artist in the electronic scene today.
