Hardwell & MAKJ Tease Long-Awaited Collaboration “Countdown,” Out October 7 On Revealed Recordings
Are you ready?!? After 6 months of patient waiting and suspense, Hardwell has finally teased his fans with “Countdown,” the collaboration with MAKJ debuted at Ultra Music Festival this past spring. This is the second collaboration in recent times for the Breda native, who is fresh off releasing “Jumper” with Dutch duo W&W. MAKJ recently released a collaboration of his own, “Revolution,” with M35. These two have collaborated before, on mashups like “1234 Unison” and “Heard You Were Walking In Paris”.
The entire vibe of the track revolves around the sample from Syndicate of L.A.W., who provide the track with its countdown chorus. The intro melody is a repeated loop of cowbells, which features a pitch bending synth before getting into the countdown. It starts at 10, and starts heading towards 1 with the cowbell, synth, and other percussion behind it. After the countdown finishes, the rhetorical “ARE YOU READY?!” blares, before heading into the massive MAKJ-style kick, and strategically placed cowbell. The drop becomes more dynamic with the addition of more synths. In the break, a well-crafted melody is played out with a classic house synth, before the track builds into more countdown madness.
We have no release date yet, but we will update this post when we find out. We can now confirm that “Countdown” will hit Beatport on October 7. For now, enjoy the preview of “Countdown” in full 1080p HD above!
