Nicky Romero + Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano “Sound of the Underground” Out September 30 On SIZE Records
Ever since this track first hit the airwaves during Nicky Romero‘s mainstage set at Ultra Music Festival Miami in March, his fans have been clamoring for the song’s official name, artists, and release label. Dubbed by Nicky to be “the follow up to ‘Flash’,” the young Dutch phenom teamed up with experienced Dutch duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano to create “Sound Of The Underground,” which will see its full release on Steve Angello‘s Size Records. The suspicion of a release on Size began when Steve dropped his own recut of the track during his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix in March, but has only been confirmed now.
The track revolves around a sample from a very old tune, by an American producer known as Fast Eddie. He is actually credited on the track as a featured artist. The track has a very simple sound, all built around the “Jack to the sound of the underground” sample from Eddie. The track has a big lower section, with a heavy kick and pulsating bassline. The track is accented by a system of snare drums, which Romero adapted from his famous remix of Green Velvet‘s “Flash.”
“Sound of the Underground” is due out on September 30 via SIZE Records, so be sure to mark that date on your calendar. For now, enjoy the preview!
