Gosteffects Remixes Ladytron’s ‘Ambulances’
Gosteffects’ remix of Ambulances is, to say the very least, a very interesting track. To lump it into a genre, I would consider it progressive, but honestly it changes its sound so much that putting it in any genre is really a disservice to the track.
The remix is heavy. Sitting at a solid 124 BPM, it pounds through speakers like an 18-wheeler. Even the break is slow and massive. It cuts down to half time and brings up the reverb-heavy synths for some serious big-room sound. That being said, when it drops, it doesn’t end up being monotonous and still carries some energy. I like the melody during the drop as well and it really exemplifies the word ‘epic’. Think of something you would play Call of Duty to to add a bit of tension. I do however have a bit of an issue with the song as a whole when it comes to the slow and heavy pace. It can be a bit much after a while and it does seem to be a big bogged down by the slow tempo.
