Daddy’s Groove & Mindshake Release “Surrender” On Jack Back Records
The track that closed out the landmark, B2B2B set at Tomorrowland (featuring Afrojack, David Guetta, and Nicky Romero) is now available to the world on Beatport. The collaboration between Guetta’s Italian protégé trio, Daddy’s Groove, and the mysterious entity known as Mindshake rocked the mainstage of Tomorrowland. This track marks Daddy’s Groove‘s second appearance on Guetta’s own Jack Back Records, after releasing “Vertigo” together with Cryogenix.
Unlike “Vertigo,” “Surrender” is a more progressive house influenced production. The track begins with a calm melody made from a guitar sounding synth. Percussion, vocals, and another layered synth move the track forward. As the vocalist reaches the chorus, the track begins to build underneath, with white noise, snare rolls, and pitch bends. When the time comes, a small percussion sequence triggers a wonderfully composed progressive drop.
