Martin Volt & Quentin State Remix Dirty South + Those Usual Suspects – “Walking Alone”

As has been the norm throughout 2013, Dutch artists have been able to create absolute masterpieces when they work together. Dutch youngsters Martin Volt & Quentin State have been doing pretty much everything together, from building a plug-in for Logic Pro X, to making tracks for Hardwell‘s Revealed Recordings and Armada’s Trice Recordings, to starting Volt & State Radio together. Their remix of Dirty South‘s collaboration with Those Usual Suspects was debuted during episode 002 of their show as a free download, and is now available worldwide.

The original vocals remain, and begin over a bed of white noise and a subtle melody. As the lyrics continue to progress, the melody becomes louder, and a subtle snare hit to the rhythm. The intro melody begins to fade out after the lyrics terminate, and a funky buildup takes over. The build ends with a momentary silence, before dropping into a very funky rework.
