Joris Voorn Drops ‘Ringo’ On Green
Voorn’s new EP, consisting of two versions of his track Ringo, has been getting a lot of attention on social media. As he’s been dropping it in clubs and shows, people have been recognizing it and needless to say, its been a hit.
And for good reason too! The track is absolutely spectacular. It’s instrumentally both diverse, and inventive. Melodically, it has the soft touch of a track that reminds you purely of the good times you’ve had in your life. It grooves hard, and is produced so cleanly that you can really enjoy the tone of each instrument. But, best of all, it takes leaps and bounds towards something I think will be the future of dance music, which is the transition from electronic to analog. Ringo uses a large amount of live (or close to live) instruments and it sounds absolutely incredible. With actual musicians performing onstage, dance music can open up in so many different ways. You can see this already with groups like Disclosure, but it’ll be interesting to see how it evolves.
