Event Recap: Mysteryland August 24 2013, Haarlemmermeer – The Netherlands
Yesterday the moment was there already, one of the biggest and most classic festivals from the Netherlands opened its doors again. Mysteryland did not just have a new edition this year, but they also celebrated their 20th birthday. It already had all the signs of a monstrous edition and wow, they didn’t let us down at all.
New Mainstage
There were some changes, compared to last year. Mysteryland received some criticism about their main stage last year. The so called Big Top could be found in a big tent, while some people thought the mainstage shouldn’t be covered. They took the criticism seriously and returned to the open air again. Dirty Dutch took over the Big Top tent and Don’t Let Daddy Know took Dirty Dutch’s tent. Are you still following it?

Variety
One of the strong points of Mysteryland is the variety. All different music styles like: Techno, Trap, House, Dubstep, Harstyle and way more, provided a perfect variation to make everyone happy. The variation was not just in the music styles, but also in the stages. The stage hosted by Tik Tak & Heineken had is own remarkable style and also the mainstage was impressive, with the huge owl. The best stage? That might be the Q-Dance stage. Take a look at it below!

Huge artists
Mysteryland definitely provided a lineup that made us more than happy. It was the right mixture between talent and experience, that made the lineup a success. Huge names like Steve Aoki, Steve Angello, Fedde Le Grand, Chuckie, Showtek, Gregori Klosman, Dirty South & Martin Garrix could be found on three different stages. People went absolutely nuts and with the biggest names in the Hardstyle/Harddance, Mysteryland stood up there as well.
Atmosphere
One important thing that can make your festival a big success is the atmosphere. How are the people behaving and is there a positive vibe? Luckily, those ingredients were all there during Mysteryland. Everyone had a very good time and there was space for big raves on all stages. Yellow Claw had a playful act, with adding Dutch folk singer Frans Bauer. It all added a positive thing to the festival.

Organisation
They sometimes say: a good organisation is half the festival. Well, they managed to organize it perfectly. With loads of things to do besides music, like an art-route and provided the possibility to take your teddybears and leave them at the ‘Teddy-sitter’. These small things make it very nice to visit such a festival and have a small, relaxed brake from raving. They thought about it well. Also, they took care of enough facilities, so that you can always have what you need.

The variation, the lineup, the atmosphere and the organisation. All factors that gave an addition to Mysteryland 2013. We are very happy that we were able to visit this festivals and will be back next year again. Mysteryland keeps on proving that they’re getting close to an legendary status!
