EDX Remixes Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” For LE7ELS
The fastest new release to #1 is receiving the remix treatment in a huge way. Italian producer EDX has taken on Avicii‘s newest hit, “Wake Me Up,” one of the many tracks first played during Avicii‘s groundbreaking set on the mainstage of Ultra Music Festival Miami. The track is an infusion of his trademark progressive style and country, with vocals from Aloe Blacc. EDX‘s recent hits include “Hazed” on PinkStar, and his collaborative remix of “Blood Pressure” with Leventina. It is a well known fact that Avicii will be releasing his debut studio album, “True,” on 13 September 2013. This is the second time that EDX has remixed an Avicii track, after he put his spin on “Silhouettes” last year.
In his remix, EDX starts the vocals over a funky drum loop, which begins to fade into the original guitar as the verse progresses. The chorus begins, and EDX begins his unique chord progression, chopping the chorus into loops, and adding percussion to build the song. The addition of pitch bends begins to tease the impending climax, and the track soon drops into the deep sound we love from EDX.
EDX’s take on “Wake Me Up” will be released on Avicii‘s LE7ELS imprint during the coming months, and be on the lookout for Avicii’s new album, “True,” coming soon as well!.
