Copy Paste Soul’s ‘People On The Street’ Out On Exploited
Copy Paste Soul, out of London, has a great new EP with two high-quality tracks. One of them became one of my favorite tracks for the month, but we’ll get to that in a second.
One of the first things I noticed about People On The Street is the high quality bass-line that absolutely explodes out of your speakers and subwoofer. The track is absolutely booming and has that great groove that carries the great deep house over the rest. The track is minimalistic, but I really enjoyed the use of high hat and other light percussion mixed slightly beneath the rest of the instruments. It’s a great track, worthy of the best speakers and great for anything from studying to partying.
Fly Away is where the EP really takes off for me. Once again the bass is wonderful and very powerful. This time however, it is layered in such a way that makes it so incredibly grimy and awesome at the same time. It almost has a deadmau5-esque feel to it, but it’s lower and booms through your speakers. Melodically, it compliments the track so incredibly well and is interesting to listen to by itself (especially with the great higher register synth on top). Finally, the chords underneath it all force the track to the next level. They are articulated incredibly well and are mixed in just the right way so they don’t take away from everything else, but still add great musical depth to the track as a whole.
