Jay Hardway Bootlegs Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”
Many people on the dance music scene complained about the sound Avicii was using in preparation for his studio album. Many lost their respect for him as the melodic mastermind behind “Levels,” and began to think of him as an outcast country musician. Luckily for those types, the lead single of the album has been given an electro twirl. The man behind it? Jay Hardway, half of the brains behind “Error 404” (the other half being Martin Garrix).
He keeps the original vocals, but adds a strong electro synth on top of the chorus. As it concludes, Hardway loops the chorus, and together with snares, is able to infuse an insane amount of energy into the song. Just over 45 seconds later, this young production wizard drops into a wild electro feel, one very different from the original track. With this version, the track becomes more friendly for DJ’s who tend to play more electro.
