Steve Angello + Matisse & Sadko Premiere “SLVR”
After many months of waiting, and countless plays during Swedish House Mafia‘s One Last Tour, the long awaited collaboration between Swedish mastermind Steve Angello and Russian progressive duo Matisse & Sadko has made its official BBC Radio 1 debut on the July 12 episode of Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. The track first hit our ears in February 2012, during a set by Matisse & Sadko in their home country (Izvestiya Hall in Moscow). Steve is fresh off reinventing himself in the post-SHM era. His newest project, an offshoot record label titled “X”, has been adding to the success and legacy of his Size imprint. Every few days, the man posts Instagram videos from his studio, showcasing and previewing his latest musical triumphs. In recent days, Matisse & Sadko released their latest single, a progressive masterpiece titled “Stars”. The duo continues to reap the benefits of their anthemic remix for M-3ox‘s “Beating Of My Heart,” and other collaborations with Russian talents like Arty, Hard Rock Sofa, and Swanky Tunes.
“SLVR” features the perfect union between Angell0‘s mastery of percussion and Matisse & Sadko‘s world-famous progressive chords. The energy-filled chord progression builds, and suddenly drops you into progressive euphoria. The middle section of the track features a dubstep-influenced break, before hitting us with another dose of progressive house gold (or should we say silver…?)
Separate from SHM, this track has received support from Arty, Alesso, and Thomas Gold. No official release date has been announced yet, but expect it soon on Size Records.
