Starkillers Hits Doorn With “Ride”
2013 has been a year booming with the sound of big-room bass kicks. Employed by artists like W&W, Shermanology, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, the musical baton has passed on to American Nick Terranova, better known to us all as Starkillers. So far, 2013 has provided a host of free downloads, as the man is focused on his album. He also recently released a remix to “As Long As I’m Alive” by Brass Knuckles, and “Rampage” with Richard Beynon and Kai. Starkillers makes his return to DOORN (he released “Odessa” in 2010) to give us the big-room hitter known as “Ride”.
The progression of the track begins with a simple chord progression, similar in sound to Showtek/Justin Prime‘s “Cannonball”. The chords progress from simple instruments, into a series of complex layered strings, together with an electro style build. After a sample, the track drops into the signature 2013 big-room kick, combined with electro synth stabs to make the song unique.
This new single from Starkillers is due out on DOORN Records on July 15, but keep your ears open in advance, it will definitely get its fair share of plays on the radio circuit. For now, sit back, crank this preview, and enjoy responsibly!
