Pete Tong Debuts Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”
The king of the first play, BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, has struck again. After premiering tracks like Swedish House Mafia‘s famous single “Don’t You Worry Child,” and the vocal mix of former mafioso Sebastian Ingrosso‘s track “Reload” with Tommy Trash & John Martin, Tong has continued his trend of bringing us fresh new tunes by dropping the newest from Avicii. In the most recent months, the Swede has been quietly working on his studio album, and now we finally see the fruits of his labor.
Receiving its first overall play during his groundbreaking set at Ultra Music Festival Miami, Mr. Bergling has collaborated with vocalist, Aloe Blacc on this progressive track. He sings about a bypassing a time of strife in his life, and how he wants someone to wake him up when it’s all over. Underneath the vocals, Avicii works his progressive house magic with spell binding chords, and an equally captivating bassline.
Tim’s album is scheduled to be released on June 17 in Europe, so keep an eye out for more previews in the coming weeks.
