After “After Dark” (The Remixes)
After the February 25th release of “After Dark” on Beatport, by Tom Staar and Style of Eye, EDM artists have been working hard at their renditions of this club banger. Coming June 24th, these artists will release these remixes in an album from everything to progressive house to dirty electro. With the great variety of artists come the even greater variety of styles and feels.
Nom De Strip Remix
While the original mix of “After Dark” can be considered uplifting and filled with positive energy, Nom De Strip takes it in a whole new tone with a negative and dirtier version, bringing out rhythm while suppressing the trademark melodic line of the song. The drop can be compared to deadmau5’s “Ctuhlu Sleeps” or Nari and Milani’s “Atom,” with a dirty synth on beats 2 and 4 of each bar, creating an intense feel sure to get the crowd riled up in almost any club.
Hard Rock Sofa Remix
A new melodic line is introduced in this remix, replacing the original line with a newer line that accompanies the vocals well. It still maintains the same mood and uplifting spirit of the original and is sure to be a great new track for the upcoming summer!
TV Noise Remix
Taking the song in a completely different twist, TV Noise creates their own jovial glitch hop remix of a great track, creating a more upbeat and bouncy feeling. Triplet synths in the main drop of the song allow us to be reminiscent of such tracks like Feed Me’s “One Click Headshot” and the Delta Heavy remix of Nero’s “Must Be The Feeling.” A must hear for all glitch hop and drumstep lovers!
Vanilla Ace Remix
Extended into a classic and repetitive house track, Vanilla Ace’s remix creates a great groove essential for any DJ to have in their arsenal. With a deeper feeling and a great alternating bassline, similar to most mombahton bass lines (specifically Dillon Francis’s remix of Hulk), Vanilla Ace creates a fast moving and bouncy track that causes everyone to move!
